Colleagues and Friends,
I am thrilled and honored to be writing to you as the new President of ASTCT. As I reflect on my first president’s message, I am reminded of all the ASTCT community has done for my professional and personal growth, and for the amazing medical advancements we have collectively achieved. This is truly an incredible organization to be leading, and I am honored to serve as president.
I’ve also reflected on my goals for ASTCT in the coming year. Of course we hope that this will be a year of recovery from the pandemic, and that we can focus on expanding our educational programs, our international outreach, and our government lobbying efforts.
And let’s not forget all that we’ve recently accomplished.
Last month we held our very successful 2021 TCT Meetings Digital Experience. Thank you to all our attendees, faculty and supporters for making the event a success. Together, we navigated a new format and platform for our meetings, and explored and delivered a meaningful (albeit different!) experience for our community. We brought together leading providers and scientists from around the world, and we advanced science and camaraderie – the very essence of what makes our TCT Meetings so special.
We also unveiled the new name of our journal, Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, in January. The journal's new name better reflects ASTCT’s vision and mission, and demonstrates the increased importance of research related to cellular therapy. We encourage you to tell your colleagues about the journal and consider contributing.
Finally, I’d like to thank Dr. Pavan Reddy, ASTCT’s Immediate Past President, for his leadership and guidance during a year of unprecedented global challenges.
I look forward to an exciting year ahead.
